Watch a Total Lunar Eclipse at the Creation Museum!
On the evening of Sunday, January 20, into the early morning of Monday, January 21, 2019, there will be a total eclipse of the moon. Come join Dr. Danny Faulkner, the Answers in Genesis astronomer, and watch this exciting heavenly event. Plan to arrive at the Creation Museum after 10:00 pm (no admission before 10) and hang out until 2:00 am to observe the course of the lunar eclipse, with totality occurring a little after midnight.
We’ll have telescopes out to get a good look at the moon. Then, while the eclipse is in totality and the sky is good and dark, we can use them to look for deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae. And best of all, this is a FREE EVENT…unless you count the loss of sleep...but we’re sure you’ll find this rare event worth that cost.
What to bring: Warm clothing, lawn chairs, sleeping bag with ground cloth and pillow (if you want to lay down and watch the eclipse), snacks, and water. Check-in will be done via an attendee list. You will NOT receive or need to print out a ticket for this event.
In case the weather doesn’t cooperate: If the weather is bad, or even just cloudy, we sadly will not be able to see the eclipse. We will cancel by 10:00 am on January 20 if it is determined that the weather won’t be suitable for viewing. We will send cancellation notices via e-mail.
