Friday Night Skills Showcase & Family Event

The Friday Night Skills Showcase aims to provide a platform for our talented young athletes, ages 9U-12U to exhibit their skills, compete against their peers, and gain exposure to a wider audience.  The Friday Night Skills Showcase will include skills competitions that will be fun for the players, parents, and coaches!

By participating in this event, players will have the opportunity to "SHOWCASE" their abilities in various facets of the game, have fun interacting and competing with players from different teams, build sportsmanship and new friendships and possibly take home an award.

Concessions will be open, and we will have opportunities for all families in attendance to participate in fun activities including Kickball for siblings that are not participating in the actual skills showcase events.

There is no charge for players to compete in the Friday Night Skills Showcase, however gate admission will be charged for non-players and parents / spectators (ages 14U are free).  A weekend pass for the entire 3 day event (Friday Night Skills Showcase, Saturday Tournament Games & Sunday Tournament Games) will be $25.  Daily admission is $10 per day.

ATTENTION: Individual players DO NOT register for the Friday Night Skills Showcase.  One (1) team representative (usually a Coach) should register the players from his/her team for the events.  Due to time constraints, a maximum of 5 players from each team may enter each event.

PLEASE NOTE: For safety concerns, all participating players must be dressed in appropriate baseball attire (i.e.; team shirt or jersey, baseball pants or athletic shorts, baseball footwear, baseball cap/helmet).  Players improperly dressed will be refused participation.

Three (3) events will be offered for the Friday Night Skills Showcase (see below).

Home Run Derby – Participants will receive 5 outs and 3 takes to hit as many Home Runs as possible (an out is defined as any batted ball other than a fair ball home run).  Participant’s Coach or Parent Representative will pitch to the player (all pitchers MUST be a minimum 18 years of age).

The top two (2) performers in each age division will advance to the finals.

In the event of a tie, the tied players will compete in a sudden death swing-off.

A maximum of 5 players from a single team may enter the Home Run Derby.  Home Run Derby participants must be registered no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday May 29, 2024.

Fastest Man Base Chase – Participants ages 9U-12U will run a timed Home-to-Home base race to crown a champion in each age division.

In the event of a tie, the tied players will compete in a sudden death timed Home-to-First race.

A maximum of 5 players from a single team may enter the Fastest Man Base Chase.  Fastest Man Base Chase participants must be registered no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday May 29, 2024.

Outfield Cannon Accuracy – Participants will have three (3) throws from centerfield to a catch screen target stationed on home plate.

Scoring is as follows:

5 Points – Thrown ball lands in the catch screen pocket on the fly

3 Points – Thrown ball hits any part of the catch screen on the fly

2 Points – Thrown ball lands in the catch screen pocket off one bounce

In the event of a tie, the tied players will compete in a sudden death throw-off.

A maximum of 5 players from a single team may enter the Outfield Cannon Accuracy.  Outfield Cannon Accuracy participants must be registered no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday May 29, 2024.
